Earth Hour

Earth Hour 2009 was held from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on March 28, 2009. More than 4,000 cities and 88 countries joined Earth Hour 2009, ten times more cities than Earth Hour 2008 had. This is a good and beneficial event which is strongly participating by the people from the whole world.

The aim of Earth Hour: To conserve energy and to save the Earth

Now, we are lacking of resources, and some of it cannot be replenish. Hence, we only can save it and not wasting it. Besides that, the earth is getting warmer and warmer, the weather is getting hotter. This shows us that it is Global warming. The South and North poles’ ice is melting, the sea level rises and it is going to flood the low-lying area, and our land will be smaller.

What can we do to participate?
-Close all non-essential electrical appliances. [To save electricity]
-Travel by car pooling or public transport. [To save fuels]

If you want to save the world, do not just say how to do, do it and you will save the world.

You also can join Earth Hour 2010; it will take place on March 27, 2010 from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm, local time.
